Green Growth Terms – Complete Streets
WHAT IS IT? The complete streets movement by communities throughout the United States seeks to incorporate design policies for planners and designers to prioritize livability and safety and to create roadways that are welcoming by incorporating space for transit vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians of all ages and abilities. These goals are incorporated through new policies, and guidance. This guidance aligns well with Smart Growth objectives. The Complete Streets site provides modal policies for implementing Complete Streets as well as news, case examples, linkage to Federal policy and other resources.
